This is an exciting time to be at Four Corners!
Since 2013 Four Corners has been supported by the Department of Public Instructions to become a Professional Learning Community (PLC) school. The PLC framework we have adopted is well researched with documented success. We are happy to have been provided this great opportunity. You can learn more in the online publication History of PLC.
Our progress has been great. We have clearly defined our school’s Mission and Vision, stating why we exist and what we want our school to look like in 3-5 years. We are currently articulating our common commitments, those changes we are willing to make to meet our goals. Above all, we are keeping our eyes on three essential elements:
- Focus on learning instead of teaching
- Build collaborative cultures where all teachers share responsibility for all students, and
- Focus on results, not just good intentions.
You can read more about the whys and hows of Four Corners PLC project in the recent Explore Superior article.
I am proud to be a partner with the Four Corners Community as we take these great leaps forward!
